FIFA World Cup 2010 No Easy Draws

None of the teams are easy; we will have to study them all very closely. In my opinion, there is no such thing as an easy or hard group - in all cases, Italy has to win. New Zealand is definitely not a lucky draw; as I said, there is no such thing. Overall, the Germany and Brazil groups appear to be the toughest of all the sections. For us, the hardest game is always the first one. Our first game will be in Cape Town and, having seen it, the stadium here is great. I heard a lot of people talking about altitude problems, but altitude will not be a problem for us.

We have some of the best players in the world. What is important is that we face all our opponents in good form and with our best skills. A great result against Italy is probably the most important thing for us if we are to succeed. And New Zealand are not an easy team in my view, any competition is still competition. This will be a great experience for all of our young players. It is a great opportunity for them to play against the very best teams in the world.

We will have to play to our very beat to compete against the world champions and we definitely want to go away with good results. We have not been to the World Cup in 28 years and. now we are here, we have to play against Italy, which is going to be a big challenge. Our game against the Italians before the Confederations Cup should give us a lot of confidence though. We played a great game and were leading for most of the match, but they brought on the big boys in the end and beat us 4-3. That said, it was still a great experience for our players and one that should help us next year. Our target is very simple, and that is to gain the respect of people all over the world for our team.

Everybody wanted Slovakia or New Zealand before the draw, and the funny thing is that we are now together in the same group! It will be hard to face the world champions, they have a lot of experience which we don't. But I believe it will be hard for everyone, it is World Cup after all. I actually think this is a good group and it is fantastic for us to be here in this tournament.
